QUEERLAW-EDIT is a list devoted to discussion, analysis and promulgation of queer legal theory and all other aspects of sexual orientation and The Law. The idea behind the list is to facilitate discussion between a diverse number of assorted groups ranging from law professors and law students to individuals interested in how The Law affects, and is affected by, sexual minorities.
QUEERLAW-EDIT is a moderated discussion mailing list.
Only messages which has a specific focus on topics related to *both* sexual orientation and the law will be distributed to list members.
All postings to QUEERLAW are submitted to QUEERLAW-EDIT and if the moderator agrees they are sent to that list.
All postings to QUEERLAW are sent directly to QUEERLAW subscribers instantly. No postings to QUEERLAW-EDIT should be submitted, since everything should go to the QUEERLAW@abacus.oxy.edu address.
There is a digest version of QUEERLAW-EDIT, called QUEERLAW-DIGEST.
This is a list on which all messages sent to QUEERLAW-EDIT are combined and sent out in one large message, about once per day. For more info, send a 'info queerlaw-digest' to Majordomo@abacus.oxy.edu

QUEERLAW is a general discussion list about queer legal issues
QUEERLAW-EDIT is a MODERATED form of QUEERLAW.
QUEERLAW-DIGEST is a collection of messages posted to QUEERLAW-EDIT.
QUEERLAW, QUEERLAW-EDIT and QUEERLAW-DIGEST is maintained by a sophisticated program, called MajorDomo.
Thus most list operations are automated. Gaylaw is maintained by another (not as sophisticated :-)) program called 'listserv'.
